GJAC's Grants for the Arts Program is our flagship service offering.

Since the agency's inception, we have dispersed more than $4 million throughout the Jackson area to support cultural projects in all disciplines. We typically issue 80-100 grants per year.

 
 

MAJOR CULTURAL PROGRAM GRANTS

The cultural programs grants aim to assist performances, exhibitions, festivals, and special collaborations. Only eligible arts groups and organizations with non-profit status (both staffed or volunteer,) can apply for this grant.

The award size is up to $2,500. Deadlines for 2019 & 2020 to be announced soon.


ARTS EDUCATION • ARTS THERAPY

The arts education/arts therapy grant aims to assist arts education outreach, art therapy programs, and programs giving arts instruction and exposure to special needs groups. Only eligible arts groups, K-12 school and colleges, and organizations with non-profit status can apply for this grant.

The award size is up to $2,000. Deadlines to be announced soon.

MUSIC FIRST SPONSORSHIPS

Our Music First grants and sponsorships aim to assist existing musical artists, in addition to eligible arts groups, K-12 school and colleges, and organizations (both staffed or volunteer) with non-profit status can apply for this grant.

The award size typically ranges $1,000 - $2,500.
Grants are for a single fiscal year period, with applications accepted year round.


CREATIVE ARTISTS GRANTS

Our Creative Artist Grant program is open to individual artists, collaborations among individual artists and small artist collectives. Applicants are eligible for up to two cycle grants (Creative Artist, Arts Education/Arts Therapy, Major Cultural Project) during a single fiscal year; however, only one application may be submitted at a time.

The award size typically ranges up to $1,500.
Applications are accepted twice a year, generally a late Fall/early Winter cycle and a late Spring cycle.


NEIGHBORHOOD GRANTS

Our Neighborhood Grant program is open to organized neighbor associations, community volunteers and service oriented clubs.

It awards up to $500. Grants are for a single fiscal year period.
Applications are accepted from the 1st to 15th of each month.


GJAC MINI GRANTS

Our Mini-Grant program is open to all. Typical applicants include individuals (artists, teachers, community volunteers,) cultural organizations, K-12 schools, colleges and other groups that use the arts in their work. Applicants are eligible for up to three Mini-Grant awards during a single fiscal year; however, only one application may be submitted at a time.

Grant awards up to $500.
Applications are accepted from the 1st to 15th of each month.


SPECIAL REQUEST GRANTS

This grant covers special asks for: Artist Needs, Professional Development Opportunities, Event Expenses, Volunteer Acknowledgment, Project Supplies, and Advertising Related Costs.
